The FELiCS project at Stanford University

Currently, Kilian, Thomas, Jens, and Moritz are participating in the Summer Program at Stanford University’s Center for Turbulence Research (CTR), with remote support from Sophie, who is providing valuable hands-on assistance from TU Berlin. Our project focuses on optimising the shape of a hydrofoil to reduce wake instability amplitude. The novelty of our approach lies in the use of a Bayesian surrogate model, enhanced with gradient information obtained through FELiCS. As we wrap up our time in California, we’re excited to have promising results to present at the program’s final session. Stay tuned for the upcoming CTR paper that will detail our contribution to this year’s CTR Summer Program.
